The AA program and fellowship not only saved my life but also gave me a wonderful life much better than I could have ever imagined. Now retired and celebrating over 38 years of recovery my life has purpose and meaning. I will forever be grateful for AA.
I am so proud to live in the Akron area where it all started. Alanon helped me to see I wasn't alone and could make decisions to improve my life. Unfortunately my ex-husband felt he was different than the others at meetings so he didn't get help and died shortly afterwards.
Thank you for this. I enjoyed learning about the beginnings of AA. My dad has been in recovery for 31 years! He has gone daily for many years to help the newcomers. He has been very dedicated to his local chapter. His health isn't what it once was, and he has had to slow down, but I know that AA has brought so much to his life.
About 30-35 years ago Fortune magazine’s headline story was about the “most effective non-profits in America” and AA was ranked #1. And I believe to this day, at least in America, no other organization has improved the lives of as many people with such a small budget. I paid attention to that article because I come from a family of many who have been helped by AA and other pioneers in the sobriety field here in Cleveland: Rosary Hall and Stella Maris.
Thank you for the brief history of AA. I am sober 7 years this year thanks to AA.
AA is helping to save the life of a person that I love. I am so grateful. Thank you for this, Regina.
Thank you for putting this out there
AA helped save my husband
And the support group Alanon helped me get thru it all and support him

So sorry he couldn’t or wouldn’t live that new way of life. All the best to you.

Although other groups may use AAs 12 Steps as a guideline, AA is for alcoholics and does not proport to have answers for other ailments.
