I think, along with other religions, in the past, like Baptists, Pentecostals, Catholicism acted more like "social conditioning" than reflective theology. In times past, it taught children right from wrong, that Life is Sacred, our Bodies are Sacred, there's certain things you don't "say" socially, children respected their parents & elders or they'd literally get thrown down a set of marble steps in Catholic grade school. (I actually heard a guy, my age, state a nun did this to him but he was a smart aleck, so . ...). Back in the day, I think women looked to their female friends, relatives, children, 'Family' for their Joy & Catholicism has always been a contemplative, (pray in silence), kind of religion. With where the world is going and the inability of teachers & parents to control young people under 18, I think going back to some of those old-fashioned values might not be a bad idea.
I have had these same terrifying thoughts, Regina, for most of my 74 years of life. You’re right. It’s time. It’s time for real love and real joy! Thank you so very much!!!! Have a beautiful Easter season! 💖
